Most of the people lucky enough to grow up in Perth over the past 50 years spent many of their best days and nights on Rottnest Island,.
Our memories were of days spent swimming, diving, surfing, riding our bikes, playing beach cricket, boating and chasing girls/boys. More recently we have enjoyed a great lunch or dinner with a few glasses of West Australian wine or beer at the Quokka arms - the Rottnest Island hotel!
Rottnest Island is about 40 minutes by Rottnest Express Ferry from Fremantle and Hillarys and if you have the time the trip down the Swan River from the Barrack St jetty along one of the most picturesque rivers in the world is well worth the effort and if you get lucky you might see the pod of dolphin that live in Freshwater Bay alongside the millionaires homes.
We love Rotto and so will you!
